Good morning lovelies, and happy Friday!
Another super chilly day today. It’s currently -5 here. And with no heating in the house still, it’s bracing!!!!!🥶🥶🥶🥶
It’s an incentive to go on the treadmill though as that will keep me warm for a bit.🤣

And I’m all about the candles at the moment. Lighting them everywhere in my house to create the illusion of cosy and warm. The soft yellow glow is lovely at this time of year. 💕

But I’m also wearing soooo many layers (picture Joey in Friends) 😁 including cosy socks.

It's a bit of a shock getting back to a routine and the alarm clock going off isn't it.

I was thinking of doing a Christmas sale like everyone else is doing, but I thought why would my customers want to buy Christmas decorations after the big event, or very early for this Christmas?

So instead of doing that, I have just launched my new Cosy Season collection which is all about embracing these cold winter days (and nights) and making the most of them. Curling up with a book and a new mug to enjoy your cuppa in, or making a delicious hot chocolate to enjoy by candle light.

We don't have to rush into the new year, lets take it slowly and enjoy winter in our cosy homes.

Are you feeling Christmassy yet?

After two Christmas fairs, I am ready to get my Christmas on this weekend! We usually don’t decorate until the first weekend of December, but we’re busy then so we’ve brought it forward to this weekend. Whoop!!!

We’ll be off to get Bob on Friday evening and maybe a Dave Jr. We have Bob in the lounge and usually Dave in the (now library). But as that is newly carpeted, I do not want to run the risk of watering a real tree in there and getting water on the carpet. So, we may compromise and get a small fake tree if I see one that I like. Oh sorry, for new followers, Bob and Dave are the Christmas trees.

I am soooooo excited to get the Christmas decorations up and to have twinkle lights at every turn. I’ve already ordered more. I mean is there a thing as too many twinkle lights? No, didn’t think so.

I’m going for a cosy Christmas vibe with lots of twinkle lights and soft candlelight. I can’t wait to start watching Christmas films in the evenings, in front of the fire with popcorn, my cosy socks on and all of us snuggled on the sofa. Bliss.

I was listening to Heart radio on the way in to work yesterday and they were playing Christmas tunes! 🎄And after my Christmas Market at the weekend and another this weekend I’m starting to feel Christmassy. I love the countdown to Christmas. The excitement building, watching Christmas movies, indulging in little Christmas snacks, and planning gifts and surprises.

Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a chocolate advent calendar. Obvs! But I also love an advent calendar where I can put in my own treats and surprises for my family. I like to include sweet treats, little gifts, notes that promise days out or a date night in January when we’re all feeling a little sad that Christmas is over. Maybe a personalised Christmas tree decoration that they can hang on the tree.🎄

Now the clocks have gone back and it’s darker earlier I’m making the most of my candles.

The soft glow of candlelight is so pretty. I love making my home look pretty and cosy at this time of year.

And one of the other things I like (come close, as I need to whisper this bit) – I love driving or walking past homes that have their lights on at this time of year but haven’t yet closed their curtains. My daughter and I were discussing Halloween over the weekend. She’s far too old to go trick or treating but we still want to have some fun.

Both him and his wife love it and I enjoyed it too. Anyway he came yesterday and said he has bad news. Cadbury’s have stopped making it. He couldn’t find it anywhere and so he emailed Cadbury. Now that’s dedication! 😁 They told him that they’re not making it anymore. He was truly gutted.

We’ve got our bonfire ready, and I have stocked up on tea lights which are now dotted around the house.
I’ve added cosy throws to the sofas and stocked up on hot chocolate. It is officially cosy season. 💕

And I know I’m an adult, but I love jumping through piles of autumnal leaves.

Is it too early to start thinking about the weekend?

We’ve been away from the past few weekends, so we are due a weekend at home to catch up on everything. So, I’m planning a weekend full of autumnal vibes. Tidying the garden, including raking, and brushing the leaves. So many already! We may have a bonfire, or at least light the firepit so we can toast marshmallows. I’m making a Sunday roast, followed by crumble and custard. We’re going to play board games and then snuggle with the log burner crackling away whilst we watch an autumnal film. 🍂🍂🍂

My daughter and I’s favourite Autumnal film is Practical Magic. 🧙”You take the lime and the coconut and mix it altogether”. If you know, you know. 😉 And of course, you can’t beat You’ve Got Mail 💌 for this time of year.

How are you this morning? Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

We had a little weekend away in North Norfolk which was so relaxing. We stayed in a little hidey-hole which was perfect for totally switching off. There wasn’t even a telly. Imagine!!! 😂

Life has been a little hectic, so it was nice to switch off for a bit. We were lucky with the weather, so we could enjoy brekkie outside, had walks in the sunshine along the coast, meandered around cute little villages and had lunch in the sun at the pub. Bliss. We also went to a really lovely book shop and bought a few more to stock up our “library”. 📚😉

Oh, and there was a gorgeous deli in the village we were staying in. They had a lovely pumpkin display outside which looked so nice.
We looked like one of the locals with our basket full of tasty treats.

I’ve done it. I’ve changed my summer clothes over for my winter wardrobe and the winter duvet is on.

I know I’m not the only busy working mum, so this post is for you lovelies.

You’re working hard, running the house, sorting the kids, trying to remember everything – the mental load is huge!

So, as we’re in the middle of the week, try to take ten minutes just for you. Make a cuppa, sit down and just enjoy ten minutes of calm before you start again. Everyone can wait for just ten minutes. ⏰

Close your eyes, take some deep breaths, and focus on your breathing for a couple of minutes whilst your cuppa cools. And to hell with it have a chocolate biscuit too! ☕️🍪
